Welcome to my website!
I inherited my love of photography from my father, who captured amazing images with his Mamiya twin lens camera. My parents purchased a Kodak Instamatic for me when I was still in elementary school. I purchased my first film SLR (a Pentax) while in high school. In 1999, I purchased my first digital camera: a HP 2MP point & shoot. After that, I never looked back to film.
Through the years since 1998, I’ve used a number of camera brands ranging from Nikon to Canon to Pentax. I’ve photographed landscapes, portraits, weddings, families and other events, including a couple of Colombian dance troupes and and portfolios for an aspiring fashion model and a belly dancer.
I’ve done some traveling to such locations as London, Paris, Ireland, western Canada, Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Arizona, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Montana, California, Kentucky and Texas. 2017 saw me snowshoeing through and photographing Glacier National Park in January, photographing all around the Big Island of Hawaii in February, photographing a Kemp’s ridley sea turtle hatchling release at Padre Island National Seashore in June, wandering and photographing around Mount Rainier National Park in July, and photographing moose and smokey sunsets in Glacier National Park in September, during the Sprague forest fire. For 2018, I've already visited Arches, Canyonlands and Zion National Parks and in April will be toting my cameras through Bryce Canyon National Park.
Before the end of this year is up, I'll be moving back out to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family and start a new chapter in my photographic life.
I'm a contributing writer & photographer to the National Parks Traveler website (click on the menu tab on my homepage to get to the Traveler's website), where I write a monthly article for the "Photography In The National Parks" column as well as 3-day photographic itineraries and my Armchair Photography Guide series for national parks I have visited. My images and writings also appear in the Traveler's "Essential Park Guide" publications. If you follow the National Parks Traveler's Instagram account (@national_parks_traveler), you'll see my photos there as I regularly guest-post.
Most of my photography on this website is for sale, with the exception of some galleries which are simply here to show you the quality and style of my work. Those galleries will not have a "buy" icon, which should help you determine whether or not you may purchase anything in that gallery.
My website uses Bay Photo Print Lab and I can personally attest to the quality of the lab's work. I offer a wide variety of size and print choices (including metal prints) as well as merchandise options such as calendars, coffee mugs, photo journals, weekly planners and other items.
Have a look around my galleries to see my work and perhaps purchase an image or two to hang on your wall at home or at your office. Click on the menu options to visit my photographic blog site, my Facebook page, the calendars and cards, and the photo books & journals I have for sale, or to contact me and say "hi."
Thanks again for visiting my site! Here's wishing you cool breezes, sweet waters and easy trails.
